Our Contributors
We are three senior students enrolled in the Orthotics and Prosthetics Technician program at George Brown College in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We found a passion for technology in orthotics while completing a research project.
JENNA CHOW
Vancouver, BC
Prior to the Orthotic/Prosthetic Technician program, Jenna completed her Bachelor of Science degree in 2017 from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC. She majored in Kinesiology with a concentration in Active Health and Rehabilitation, completed her Health and Fitness Certificate, and minored in Gerontology. Jenna’s academic and sporting background, along with her passion for helping others, is what ultimately led her to the Orthotics and Prosthetics field. She hopes step counting AFOs will encourage patients to wear and show off their AFO, while also improving their quality of life! In her spare time, Jenna enjoys playing volleyball, travelling, and a good Caesar.
BREANNA CRANLEY
Ottawa, ON
Breanna received her BASc in biomedical mechanical engineering from the University of Ottawa. Though she loves math and analyzing, her love for people has found her in the field of prosthetics and orthotics. On top of being a student in O&P, Breanna works as a student tech, she waitresses, and she tutors. If you catch her on a day off, she'll probably be training her two dogs (Drizzy and Shaq) or making an acrylic pour!
RACHAEL DUROCHER
Windsor, ON
Prior to the Orthotic/Prosthetic Technician program, Rachael attended Olivet College in Michigan where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in 2018 and was a student-athlete. In the classroom she majored in Exercise Science and minored in Psychology, while on the soccer field she led her team to four conference finals. She is passionate about health and fitness, travelling, and helping others. She believes that by counting steps, it will help patients achieve their overall health goals and motivate patients to wear their brace! Outside of the classroom or work, Rachael can be found out on a run, at a country concert, or planning her next adventure.
